Upcoming SDDA Practice Session- Novice


Time: 11:30AM SDDA Novice

For graduates of SDD1 class at Best Friends, or for anyone who has taken a level one scent detection class

If you are getting ready for a trial or would like to see if you and your dog are ready for a trial at the novice level, then this is the practice session for you!  This session is also open to those who just want to have a fun training session at the novice level (wintergreen only).

The 1hr session includes a set up for containers, interior and exterior. Dogs must be up to date on DHPP + Rabies vaccines and you must be able to safely contain your dog in your vehicle when it’s not your turn.

Cost: $25+HST

 

Upcoming SDDA Practice Session- Advanced


Time: 12:30 PM SDDA Advanced

For graduates of SDD2 class at Best Friends or Level two scent detection class.

If you are getting ready for an SDD Trial or would like to see if you and your dog are ready for a trial at the Advanced level, then this session is for you!

This session is also open to those who just want to have a fun training session at the advanced level (Wintergreen and Pine).

This 1hr session will have a set up for containers, interior and exterior.  Dogs must be up to date on DHPP + Rabies vaccines and you must be able to safely contain your dog in your vehicle when it’s not your turn.

Cost: $25 + HST

 

Upcoming SDDA Practice Session- Excellent


Time: 2:00PM SDDA Excellent

For graduates of SDD2 or SDD3 at Best Friends or a Level two or higher scent class

If you are getting ready for an SDD Trial or would like to see if you and your dog are ready for a trial at the excellent level, then this session is for you!

This session is also open to those who just want to have a fun training session at the excellent level (Wintergreen, Pine, Thyme).

This 1.5hr session will have a set up for containers, interior and exterior.  Dogs must be up to date on DHPP + Rabies vaccines and you must be able to safely contain your dog in your vehicle when it’s not your turn.

Cost: $35 + HST

 

Upcoming Reliable Recalls Workshop Level I


Does your dog come to you when you call him? What if another playful dog, or a fluffy squirrel, was running nearby? Does he dance just out of reach when it is time to head home from the dog park? Does he sheepishly walk towards you, or does he come running at a full sprint when called? If your dog’s recall is anything other than fast and reliable – 100% of the time – then this workshop is for you! You will be taken through exercises that will help you learn how to best motivate your dog during training, and how to help your dog overcome difficult distractions. During the workshop you will work with your dog as you learn the foundations and recall training exercises that will be the key to building a fast and reliable recall.

Class Size: 8 working spots , 12 audit spots

Monday November 30th 6:00-8:00PM

Prerequisites for working spot: DHPP + Rabies (If you have a puppy that is less than 4mths old, rabies is not required),  Bordetella is strongly encouraged.  Age: 12+ weeks of age, people/dog friendly or neutral.  (Working spot equals: 1 person+1 dog)

Prerequisites for auditors: None

Format: 1 session, 2 hours in length

Price:   8 Working spots – $75.00 HST Included, 12 Auditor spots – $35.00 HST included

You will be required to secure your dog when it is not involved in an exercise (we strongly recommend a crate).   If you are unable or unwilling to do so, please sign up as an auditor instead!

Upcoming Reliable Recalls Workshop Level II


This workshop builds on the exercises taught in our Level I workshop.  Distractions are introduced, along with ways to motivate your dog to come with enthusiasm every time you call!

Class Size: 8 working spots , 12 audit spots

Sunday December 13th 10:00-1:00PM

Prerequisites for working spot: Our Level I Reliable Recall workshop with the dog you are registering for this workshop.  DHPP + Rabies vaccines (bordetella is strongly recommended but not mandatory).

Age: 4+ months and must be people/dog friendly or neutral.  (Working spot equals: 1 person+1 dog)

Prerequisites for auditors: None

Format: 1 session, 3 hours in length

Price:   8 Working spots – $90.00 HST Included, 12 Auditor spots – $45.00 HST included
