An animal lover from childhood, Tina truly entered the world of dogs as a teen, having convinced her parents that a Malamute puppy would be the right fit for their family. After learning much from that first experience, Tina branched out into Rhodesian Ridgebacks, where she fell in love with dog sports and eventually breeding.
Over the years, Ridgebacks she has bred have obtained multiple titles in obedience, conformation, lure coursing, scent detection and tracking. It was during the last decade that Tina discovered and became completely enamored with scent detection and tracking. The joy of watching a dog and handler team work together to solve a scent problem eventually led her to K9 Search and Rescue. Her passion to learn more about this domain spurred her to open her home to a working Belgian Shepherd, and after much training, Tina and Raider are now certified for Search and Rescue with the OPP.
In addition to her own personal dogs, Tina’s 20 year career as a veterinary technician, gave her the opportunity to teach a variety of canine classes, and has provided her with a keen understanding of the special relationship between dogs and their people. From the boisterous puppy stage through to the serene senior years, she has been there to support clients through all aspects of pet ownership.
