Nancy Trus
Nancy has been teaching at Best Friends since 2005 but has lived and worked with animals all her life. Nancy has a passion for animal assisted therapy, and has worked with seniors and disabled youngsters by way of therapeutic horseback riding and visiting pet therapy programs. Her current therapy dog, Merlin, has been a working as a certified therapy dog since 2006.
Nancy has a passion for “mutts” that can exclude her out of some competitive venues but she still enjoys obedience training, agility and has titled dogs in rally obedience, rat hunt, and has earned Trick Dog titles.
Nancy draws on her work experience as a veterinary assistant and microbiologist, and her life experience as a mother of two sons, to deliver classes that are scientifically right on the money yet interesting and fun for students at both ends of the leash.
