Lynn Gingras

Lynn’s enthusiasm in working with dogs started early, while growing up on a family farm in Eastern Ontario. Horses, livestock, farm dogs and barn cats were a part of the daily routine. She learned to appreciate and respect the value and importance of the ongoing development of the relationship between animal and owner. Though familiar with horses, it was in the daily interactions with the five farm dogs that she learned it was easier to motivate and encourage behaviour by learning what each dog valued, and then applying it to their daily routine.

Lynn is a passionate fan of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and currently owns and trains NDSTRs Ranger and Indi. Ranger is accomplished in Field Retrieving, Competitive Obedience and Agility. He is titled in all three sports. Lynn is currently training Indi and hopes to bring her into the competitive world of Obedience and Agility in the next year.

Lynn is a stand-out graduate of the Professional Dog Trainer’s Program at Best Friends,  and was immediately added to the staff to teach agility and obedience. She has also instructed the L.E.A.D. Program with the Ottawa Humane Society.  She loves to work with people and their dogs. Her classes are structured to encourage and motivate all her students to do their best in their leadership role with their canines.
