Heather Hunter

Heather Hunter is a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer.  Her interest in dog training started with fostering dogs for rescue — over the last 10 years, she has had the pleasure of welcoming nearly 100 foster dogs through her home, all happily adopted.

Heather is also a Trainer for the Ottawa Humane Society, including a program that pairs at-risk youth with dogs from the shelter for obedience and agility training.

She’s a graduate of the Professional Dog Trainer Program at Best Friends and a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

Students describe Heather’s teaching style as encouraging and motivational. Her goal is to help owners discover their dog’s potential and build on each success. Her classes include games, mini-challenges and some laughter along the way!

Heather lives on a hobby farm & apiary just south of Ottawa.  She has chickens (who are clicker trained!), an English Pointer named Coby, and a livestock guardian breed, Finn.   Her daytime profession is in the charitable sector.
