Welcome To Best Friends Dog Training

Let’s face it.  Just about every behaviour a dog does naturally – bark, jump, dig, chew – is a behaviour we humans consider a problem.   If we want our dogs to be model citizens, we just have to imagine a better way and take responsibility for teaching our dogs alternatives.  At Best Friends, we don’t sign dogs up for class, we sign up owners.  The dog may be your project, but you are ours!

Using motivational, reward-based techniques, we will show you how to train your dog to be the star at the dog park, the dog all the other owners compliment.  You’ll learn how to create and reinforce good behaviour, how to build focus and attention, and how to work through real-world distractions.   And you and your dog will have plenty of fun as you learn.   If we’ve done our job well and gotten you hooked on the joy of dog training, we offer a broad range of courses in dog sports and activities.  Agility, flyball, therapy, tracking – there are no limits to what you can achieve.  All you have to do is imagine it, and get started.

It is a truism to say that the dog is largely what his master makes of him:   he can be faithful and loyal, courageous and the best of companions and allies.

Best Friends will be closed for our summer break Aug 4th – 20th, 2017.

We will check in every few days to try and stay on top of e-mails and phone calls, but we thank you in advance for your patience with our slow response. We will resume regular hours on Monday, August 21st, at noon.

Regularly scheduled group classes will continue to take place as planned during this time.

If you wish to register for a group class, please note that you can use the automated registration software on our website to do so.

If you are looking for private classes or behavioural consults, please be advised that we are booked solid until early October and have no openings until then.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
